Anniversary Ideas: Help?

So, our three year anniversary is coming up and I'm trying to think of things we could do. We were thinking we'd get couples massages at Aveda, but I'm not feeling that right now. So Jeremy put me in charge of coming up with something to do since he said the present he is buying me is actually good for both of us and should be our main present and then we'd each get a little spending money while we're out and about. He got me the letterpress print of the SLC temple (by Cameron Moll) where we were married--so much cooler than a photograph and so much more "us" than a photograph.

Back to anniversary ideas. We've done the romantic getaway things before and really they're never as fun as we'd like them to be (we're Disneyland people, not "admire a pretty themed hotel room" people). So we're not staying anywhere fancy or anything, but we definitely want to do some fun. I was thinking about going to Color Me Mine and painting some plates or other ceramic things. But other than that, I'm drawing a complete blank on what to do this year!

So I need your help. What have you done for past anniversaries with husbands/boyfriends that was fun?

My favorite thing to do with my hunny is to walk on the beach. Since you are in Utah I guess that is out. :( I like your idea about painting it sounds fun. I find that the less I plan and the more I go with the flow the more fun I have.
BTW The temple is beautiful. I have never been to see it but if given the chance I would love to.

We like to go out to a nice romantic dinner at a restaurant that we would not normally afford and we go early when the prices are a little cheaper. Then we spend the evening driving and talking. We give a small gift to each other and then catch a late movie - like 11:00 p.m. or later (last one for the evening) and we pretend like we've reserved the movie house just for our evening because we're usually the only ones out that late on a week night. It's very romantic because we pick a very romantic movie to see. We're usually home by 3:00 a.m. and even if we have to get up by 7 to get to work it's still worth it. You can go to bed early the next night. IT's a blast. Happy Anniversary younglyweds!

The temple print is fabulous!! I want to see if they have one of the LA Temple, since that's where we got married.

I can't really help you since both anniversaries we either walked along the beach or went to Disneyland.

We did love going to see BYU plays/operas when we were there...wish we would have gone more, since they are so much better than anything you see in LA.

Congrats on your anniversary!

We went to the Hogle Zoo last year. Kind of fun. Dave loves Cheetahs, so that's pretty much why we went.

We went to the Hogle Zoo last year, too! Crazy.

And Carolyne, he said he's working on some other temples. :)

You guys are SO cute together!! Happy anniversary!

If you can swing it, Tahiti (sp?) is a wonderful place to go. If you plan on sticking to the States, try Mackanac Island http://www.mackinac.com/. There are many hotels and B&B's there. It's absolutely gorgeous there!

O it's so groovy you got the letterpress print! Yay!

LOL, considering we literally moved many many miles the last two anniversaries before this year's (it just happened to work out that way and neither were planned), we were so excited to be settled at least for another year and not packing up the house, that we were happy just having take out and snuggled in for a movie on our sofa.

But....that's why we are going all out for our honeymoon in Kauai :P

That print is fabulous! We're doing a weekend getaway at the beach. Dinner and drinks, evening stroll on the beach, back to our room to hot tub. Mmmmmmm. Heaven. Happy anniversary!

If you are looking for a restaurant, last year, Kai and I went to the Roof (I had never been) and it was delicious! We don't go anywhere just for the sake of getting away..we have to be doing something! We're big Vegas people (fabulous shopping, dining, and hanging by the pool). I don't know if you guys are the adventurous type but here's a few things on our list: horseback riding in Sundance, skydiving, and golfing at the nicest courses in the state. Good luck!

We like to make plans way in advance and then "poop out" the day of the big event. But one year, we just went somewhere for a Coke and talked. It was really fun because we didn't put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make it an EVENT. If you can't think of anything fantastic, just spend the day together. Go out and have a Coke and talk.
